Information for Orchestra members

SUMMER 2013 WORKSHOP AND CONCERT

The orchestra will be as follows:

Flute

Oboe, doubling cor anglais

Clarinet in B flat, doubling bass clarinet

Bassoon

2 Trumpets in B flat

Horn in F

2 Trombones

Timpani 

Percussion (Glock, cymbals, tambourine, claves, bass drum, drum kit)  [for Rutter only]

Keyboard (as harp and piano)

Strings (2, 2, 2, 2, 1)

Orchestra information

Members of the orchestra are requested to be set up at Middleton Arena promptly by 11.00am

in accordance with the timetable below.

Please bring music stands.

Light refreshments will be available during the breaks in rehearsals.

Expenses will be paid to members of the orchestra.

The Workshop day on Saturday 24 August 2013 is for the Choir only with piano accompaniment.  Orchestra members are not required for that day.

Parts will be available to borrow for members of the orchestra early in July, and will be collected at the end of the concert.

TIMETABLE

Sunday 25 August.

11.00am – 1.30pm                Orchestra only.

2.00pm -2.30pm                Choir arrive and assemble.

2.30pm – 5.30pm              Choir and Orchestra rehearsal.

7.30pm – 9.30pm              Concert

The St Gauderic Music Festival is a charitable organisation committed to the study and performance of classical music, mainly in the south of France in and around the village of St Gauderic.  The organisers of events take no remuneration.  For this event, it is intended to donate any surpluses after direct costs have been paid to major charities involved in civil rights causes across the world.
