There was no Festival in 2008, but we did promote two concerts in St Gauderic in the summer of 2008.
Latour de France Festival Choir
On 25 July we had a visit from the Festival Choir of the Festival International de Musique et des Arts de Latour de France. By kind permission of the Festival Musical Director, John Bethell MBE,
the choir came on the coach from Rivesaltes after lunch and spent an hour or so looking around Mirepoix, before coming to St Gauderic to prepare for the concert. Nadine laid a wonderful spread for an evening meal for the choir and the concert took place at 21.00.
Goldberg Ensemble 25 August 2008
We were delighted to welcome the Goldberg Ensemble to perform in St Gauderic church on 25 August. Led by Malcolm Layfield, Head of Strings at Royal Northern College of Music, the Ensemble is a flexible group of professional musicians who have established a strong reputation both in England and in France, as well as performing in other parts of the world.

The Ensemble which performed at St Gauderic was a string sextet which was on tour in southern France in August 2008. They chose three of the most renowned works in the chamber music repertoire, by Mozart, Brahms and Strauss. With the warm, clean acoustics of the church at St Gauderic, if you missed this performance you missed a treat.
